PETITION TO NOMINATE ALEXEI GREIG AS SCHOOL LEADER OF FAHARI ACADEMY CHARTER SCHOOL To The Board of Trustees: As of April 10, 2013, we are still without full time leadership at Fahari Academy Charter School. We have had several candidates of interest and they all seem to fall short of an undefined culture and expectation that is in place for the school. At the Board Meeting which took place on March 7, 2013, we discussed numerous factors that were challenging the process in finding a school leader. This included finding someone who is flexible, open, abreast of trends in education and prepared to be a leader of a troubled school. It was stated by the Board that they would invest in the development of a leader lacking some attributes but whom showed the potential to become a strong leader for this school. We propose that we take a different direction in the candidate search – Promote from within. We need to put our school in the hands of an educator that recognizes the needs of Fahari Academy Charter School. We believe that it is in our school’s best interest to promote someone from within that understands the culture, the families and also reflects the values of the community that we serve. Why are we searching for the right person to develop when Mr. Greig is already here, willing and striving to become a better and stronger leader than he has already shown he can be. For the sake of the future and status of Fahari Academy, we need to focus on the overall goal of the school and not just someone that may turn out to be a good fit. We need to use our time wisely and keep the families we have by accommodating them and most importantly maintaining consistency amongst faculty and staff. Thank you, Faculty, Staff and Families of Fahari Academy Charter School
