Personal differences cannot be the catalyst for such a decision - our Middle School children have received an outstanding and well rounded education under Dr. Webb's leadership!     Comments: The education that my son is receiving in this community is an embarrasment. I arrived in California 4 years go, with expectations of a superior education for my children. We researched the schools and made my decision to live in El Segundo, largely based upon the scool rankings. Upon enrollment, I can't believe that the rankings were correct, and appaled that the other communities could actually be worse. The GATE program is a complete waste of money, and the teachers are not trained on differential education for students. I expect more. My children deserve more.

    Comments: We moved to El Segundo in 2001 & my daughter started 6th grade. It has been a wonderful 3 years at the middle school thanks to Dr. Webb. At our previous school we only saw the principal twice a year: at Christmas & last day of school. I truly appreciate everything Dr. Webb did for El Segundo Middle School.

    Comments: I feel that Dr. Webb has many outstanding qualities, yet I still disagree with some of his paractices. I feel his behavior towards students should be monitored and reined in a bit - but the good far outweighs the bad. His dedication to the students education and running a tight ship is commendable.

    Comments: Although we have a lot of respect for all the hard work the Board has done in the past, we believe the decision it made to remove Dr. Webb as principal of the Middle School in the middle of the school year was far from wise. It was not wise for two reasons: 1)if there was any controversy among parents about Dr. Webb's discipline and academic approach, then all parents should have been informed about that, so ALL of them could express their own opinions, not only the ones who didn't like him, and 2) Because to unstructure the students in the middle of the school year (less than one month before the end of the trimester and only about two months before the State Tests), is only creating dissension among them, thus affecting their discipline and learning standards. However, if the Board felt it had valid reasons to make such a drastic decision, then we respectfully request that it reveals those reasons to us. If the Board really cannot reveal those reasons, then we request that the Board explains to us why it couldn't wait until the end of the school year to take the action it took.

    Comments: I never had a problem with Dr. Webb and thought he was doing a good job. One thing I noted is that he seemed to really take that job very seriously and was so supportive with the extra curricular activities, and took personal interest in the achievements of several students. I received personal hand written notes when my daughter was doing better in her classes. Megan Coffing

And they are just that...Rumors..Dr. Webb has proven to be involved, attentitive and respected. Unless you have extreme litigous reasons for removing him..you did him, the children and the community a dis-service! Shame on your EGOS! Shame on your own personal career goals for clouding the issues!
