| 611 | rohit vishwakarma , youth for sustainbility | i am a resident of Samatanagar an area that has mostly one‐tier informal settlements, houses
called slums or chawls in the city of Mumbai (see figure). Most families are struggling to
climb up the economic ladder of the society. They are not aware of things like the impacts
of climate change and the vulnerability it imposes on the urban poor. In our social order, we
need to bring a mass change in people’s thinking but creating awareness about this global
issue. This project proposal is a social venture that will be undertaken by the youth of
Samatanagar to mitigate and adapt to climate change. This social venture will mainly include
awareness and promotion of energy efficiency devices. It will also include a clean‐up drive
where our team will consult with local experts towards better waste management of our
society. Smaller initiatives such as awareness about recycling benefits will also be undertaken |

| 621 | Anonymous | Rspected Sir,
I honestly belive that you too agree that any developmental project must adress the environmen safety and social justice issues while the proje is being palnned and implimented. The Environment Impact Assesment (EIA) tool, therefore, has very significant role in ensuring that objectives. The proposed ammendments in the EIA rules 2006, however, has many questionable provisions, that would go aginist the original spirit of the law. I am, therefore, heryby requesting you to kindly look into this matter and withheld the process untill the election proces is over, so that the new popular government can take up the issue with wider public consultation before coming to a final version of the draft. I am making this humble request as I felt that it is the duty of citizens to bring such issues to the notice of the government and thereby larger public domain.
Thanking you
Yours truely,
Keshava H. Korse |

If my children want to see the ghats near Bellary, they have to go see the Olympic stadium in Beijung. Do not allow these rapacious monsters into our forests. |
