I tried to research the Food Standards Agency on the storage of eggs, but all I have is store them correctly! As a Chef I store them in a fridge which is according to the label on the box and consumer advice etc. It is how I should store them.
So why are Supermarkets storing and selling eggs at an ambient temperature? The worry is that according to the food standards Agency Quote " it's important to handle, cook and store them properly to avoid food poisoning especially for the very young, pregnant women and elderly people" Quote
Quote"However, you shouldn't eat eggs after the 'best before' date. This is because eggs can contain salmonella bacteria, which could start to multiply after this date" Quote
My problem is If a corner shop or supermarket can sell eggs at an ambient temperature up untill the sell by date isnt that increasing the risk!
