We live in a world where more than 1.2 BILLION people lack access to clean drinking water. Yet we still waste so much of it everyday...and I do it too. Women spend 200 million hours collecting water every DAY. Every minute at least one child dies due to a water-related illness.

We also live in a world where we can turn this around for the better. My class is currently learning all about water, and other classes in other schools should too. If we work to educate kids about not wasting water, we can solve the water crisis. Education about water and the water crisis also teaches children an important lesson about not taking what they have for granted.


Water is also a fantastic way to learn about science from a young age. By teaching them the strange way water works, we are opening up a door to many questions about science from children- and one day, these same kids might find new discoveries about this amazing substance.

In short, we should educate kids about water, because it will benefit them and the Earth.
