So somebody wants to exploit people, that's nothing new. However, after learning about a potential TV show coming out called "North-Siders," it seems somebody wants to exploit Edmonton.
If there is going to be a "new" tired, unoriginal, stereotyping reality show set in a city, Edmonton is not the city to do it in. Is this the Edmonton you know and love? :
"Edmonton, Alberta, Canada…it’s a city ‘split in 2’ by the North Saskatchewan River – a divide that’s as much cultural as it is geographical....In the vein of Jersey Shore and Big Brother, NORTHSIDERS is a wild, racy, and unpredictable ‘social experiment’, as we throw a group of bona-fide ‘northsiders’ into a run-down house, make them live together for 13 weeks, and see if anyone survives with any dignity intact..."
What mostly disturbs me is that the North Saskatchewan river is portrayed as a divider, when in fact, Edmonton, Alberta, Canada is a city HELD together by it. Edmonton is a culturally and ethnically diverse mosaic of passionate citizens that come together, rather than apart, when faced with a challenge.
