Comments: This is a particularly bad time to close CABs with the financial crisis leaving more people than ever looking for advice. One bureau in Dundas Street will be inadequate.

Comments: CAB is an invaluable servicewhich I have used several times. They seem stretched enough as it is. Further cut- backs would be a huge loss to so many.

Comments: Local CABs and their volunteers do a great job, which will become even more important In the current economic climate. A telephone advice line cannot hope to replicate a walk in service.

Comments: CAB provides an essential and unique service, often to the most vulnerable members of society. How can the Council even contemplate a closure programme This has to be seen as a gross insult to the staff and volunteers who work in these offices.

Comments: I am totally opposed to the closure of the Citizens Advice Bureaus. They provide an invaluable free impartial service to the community. Over the years I have sought their advice on many occasions and have been greatly impressed by the guidance provided.

Comments: Centralising the service, and relying on telephone and internet advice, will hit the most vulnerble users of the service the most.

Comments: This is a desperately ill-timed (even assuming there was a good timed - which I do not believe) sense of direction and miscontrued committment. Such a rationalisation and centralisation particularly as we undoubtedly head into a recession with its misery of related issues for people as well as the more general free and confidential service that has provided albeit an invisible by its very nature underpinning of community spirit and well-being.

Comments: The value of local bureaus is that there is a recognised and obvious place to go to for those who need help which, 1.) is accessible, 2.) easy to return to and follow up issues which are ongoing, 3.) is informed on the goings on of the community, and most importantly, means that clients are able to see advisers in person. The idea that local bureaus are being forced to close is worrying and i feel, a great loss to the community.
