Name: Anonymous on Dec 2, 2008Comments: We make toys for children with high regard to safety issues- embroidered faces rather than buttons, etc. There are no small businesses that can withstand this cost. My solution would be to place the obligation on the manufacturer of the supplies and not the mothers and grandmothers who are already conscientious of potential hazards in the items they make.Flag

Name: Elizabeth Ellis on Dec 3, 2008Comments: I believe that small US owned fabric/clothing businesses should be exempt from this regulation or the US govt. should make this testing available at a reasonable cost, prorated taking into account the size of the business. These people are the "Main Street" we keep hearing that our government cares about and wants to help.Flag

Name: Jessica Ziel on Dec 3, 2008Comments: As a very small and self-employeed clothing designer this makes it very difficult for me to continue my business. I love what I do. I design and sew everything myself and keep my prices low to allow more people the opportunity to purchase, especially considering our current economic situation. These guidelines may just push me out of a business that I love and work hard to start.Flag
