The petition
This Petition is an open request to the ECKE YMCA Board in Encinitas. Many working individuals who have a YMCA membership would be better served if the ECKE YMCA in Encinitas could be opened at 5:00 a.m. instead of 5:30 a.m.
Why would this make a difference? For many YMCA members, exercising is a lifestyle that reflects the individuals' dedication to improving their physical health and mental wellbeing, which corresponds well to the YMCA'S purpose and goals. Over the last 5 years the North County Coastal area has grown, thus increasing traffic and the commute time. With a 5:00 a.m. start, members will have the opportunity to get a complete workout and get on the road before the worst traffic hits; A possible change in time also aligns the ECKE YMCA with other YMCA'S and local sport clubs in the San Diego area.
Several petitions over the last two years were signed in the past and turned into Susan Height. No individual written notice or action was taken by the Director Susan Height to address the Members who signed. The below Members are requesting that the Board mail a full member Survey to see if enough members would be interested in coming at this time. This could be accomplished much like the flyers that are sent out by the ECKE YMCA to members anouncing upcoming events. A survey would then show how many members would utilize this new time change.
In closing the Services and Staff at the Ecke YMCA are to be commended on their service and dedication to all members who use the Ecke YMCA.
