AnonymousI claim no benefits and am on a low income. At present I am putting £30 a week into my gas and £20 a week into my electric meter. This is just to cover heating for a couple of hours in the morning and 4 hours at night. The last few weeks I have sat with a blanket over me.

Richard CaropreseIf we are all together on this, they will have to put the prices down. British people need to be aware of this; when people abuse us it is just because we allow them to do so.
Anonymousyears ago smokeless zones were imposed on most poor areas of britain. new council houses were built without open fireplaces.gas and electricity prices soared-they,ve got us by the short and curlies!nowadays there would,nt be a forest, wood or even a fence left in the country if we still had open fireplaces to enable us to avoid the unjustified, immoral prices of these parasitic companies!
tom murphywe should nationalise all of them they provide part of the basic needs of the well being of our country and so should belong to the people of this country

Geraldine RotheramWe the undersigned call for immediate action to control the unacceptable charges and profits of gas, electricity and water companies, and to get the companies to adjust charges in accordance with lower wholesale prices, with immediate effect. In addition we call for the government to further impose a windfall tax on these companies and to re-examine the criteria used by their appointed assessors in relation to any future price increase proposals.
