| 1452 | Anne Fuller | This vital outreach into rural locations must be kept, it may be the only contact that some have with live theatre. The loss would be immeasurable. |
| 1453 | Christine Johnson | I would like to express my family's strong concern about the proposed Arts Council cuts to the funding for the Eastern Angles theatre company.
Over the years, we have tried to instill a love of theatre in our children and a significant part of this has been done by attending the latter's various productions - most latterly, at the Seckford Theatre in Woodbridge. The last two Christmas productions have been exceptionally good and eagerly anticipated by my teenagers and their friends. I am concerned that any diversion of funds away from the company will leave these rural children without convenient access to live theatre...............particualrly as we have now lost the Angel Theatre at Rendlesham.
As a taxpayer, I would like to see some of my funds for the theatre used to benefit my children close to home and not only when they can travel to the major conurbations. |

| 1455 | Nicholas Clark | Eastern Angles is absolutely essential to recording the life and times of this region. Their productions teach both those who live here, and those who visit , about the past, present and future of East Anglia. The proposed cut seriously threatens that future. I heartily implore the Arts Council not to reduce their funding. |
| 1456 | Katherine Gregor | Eastern Angles produce quality shows - as was illustrated by their recent production of CRAMPONS OF FEAR. They provide employment to actors and much joy to audiences in East Anglia. The proposed funding cut is very short-sighted on the pasrt of the ARts Council. |

| 1460 | R A Shipp & L M Shipp | A cut in the Arts Council budget would be devastating to a small company like Eastern Angles, this company bring brilliant live theatre to those of us who live in the countryside. |

| 1468 | Peter Cansick | Local arts projects should be encouraged as they reach across the whole spectrum of society and are available for everyone in their local community. To cut funding for local enterprises in favour of large centralised projects that have limited appeal is a grave error. |
| 1469 | Mrs. Janet Buxton | I have always found the productions by Eastern Angles to be excellent. I am still smiling at memories of Crampons of Fear - a superb entertainment. |
| 1470 | Tony Segaller | You cannot possibly make this fierce cut to such a deserving company! |
| 1471 | Angela Segaller | This is a truly deserving cause and an appropriate use of Arts Council money - do not make this attack! |
| 1472 | Alma Bowen | |
| 1473 | Nicholas Webber | |
| 1474 | Anonymous | Just been to see Crampons of Fear - laughed until my sides hurt! Eastern Angles are a fantastic, hardworking, talented theatre group. WE NEED THEM. |
| 1475 | Andy Thornton | How can a 50% cut in funding enable the company to continue to provide theatre to rural audiences? Surley this sort of enterprise should be encouraged as it offers theatre to those less likely or unable to attend. |
| 1476 | Anonymous | I am very saddened by the decision and I hope that it can be reconsidered in the light of the excellent work that EAs do in this rural area. To decimate EAs work will be a big blow for the arts in this rural area. |

| 1478 | diana Quick | Eastern Angles have long made a unique and valuable contribution to life in Eastern England, where there is little else in the way of touring theatre of such a consistently high standard. it would be a great impoverishment of our cultural life if this company goes to the wall as a result of the loss of its core funding. i deplore this decision of the Arts Council and urge them to reconsider. |
| 1479 | Luke Redmond | I watched my first Eastern Angles show over twenty fives years ago. I think It was called the Reapers Year. I was about six. Since then I have enjoyed many visits. Back then, where I grew up, if you didn't have a car you didn't go to see any theatre. Thankfully the eastern Angles came to you! Thanks Ivan. Would also like to thank Pat and Julian and Jon T for their contribution and dedication and talant. And the thousands of local people who give their time and energy and support for free!. This is what theatre is about. Local people becoming involved in local stories and tradition. It is at the heart of any commuinity and the arts council should understand this, they should realise how much it means to the local commuinities they are supposed to provide for! Don't get me started!
All the best.

| 1480 | Kate Redmond | I have been watching Eastern Angles since almost the beginning. When I raised my children I could not have got them to see any theatre at all, except when the Eastern Angles toured their work and performed great plays in little towns and villages all over east anglia. It would be a great shame if they were not able to continue to provide this excellent and important service to those commuinities.
I also help out with their productions in my own way, along with so many other people who give their time. We do this because we understand the importance of providing people with the oppotuinity to see great local theatre. |

| 1483 | Veronica Greenwood | We were dismayed to hear that The Arts Council is intending to drastically reduce funding to Eastern Angles. They are an excellent Theatre Company, bringing top quality performances to people all over East Anglia, many of whom would probably not see live theatre otherwise.
We were taken to an Eastern Angles performance 8 years ago and have not missed one of their Christmas or touring productions since. Whilst the Christmas productions are fun, but executed in the most professional manner, the Spring touring productions are informative and thought provoking. They specialize in putting on plays by lesser known playwrights. The cast and production team put their all into putting on performances that thrill their audiences.
We understand that funds are limited, but it would be a retrograde step to cut funding to this fabulous theatre group who bring such pleasure to so many people all over this region. |

| 1485 | Anne Greenwood | I am a 27 year old who was first taken to an Eastern Angles play 3 years ago and have never before or since found a theatre company so consistently excellent that booking tickets for the whole family or taking friends is so enjoyed by everyone and relied upon to be value for money and to appeal to all ages, to be utterly stimulating, memorable, topical, original, educational, inspired and inspiring, often poignant or hilarious.
The end of Eastern Angles would be a desperate shame for so many, especially in this age of too often generic, regurgitating chain entertainment companies where experiences can be so average or disappointing. Eastern Angles experiences bring people together, keep local social history alive and are an absolute asset to the community. |
| 1486 | Su Fox | The Eastern Angles are brilliant and the pride of East Anglia. Shame on the Arts Council. |
| 1487 | Sophie Watson | I'd love to say I can't believe this is happening but sadly I believe it only too well. Eastern Angles is a fantastic company and it would be a tragedy for the arts in East Anglia if these cuts go ahead. Good luck with the petition. |
| 1488 | Anonymous | I am disgusting by this proposed cut, and strongly oppose it. |
| 1489 | Robin Herne | Regional theatre is jsut as important as all the London-based projects that devour most of the funding dished out. |
| 1490 | david shipman | just the kind of theatre the Arts Council ought to be fully supporting. |
| 1491 | Marilyn Dan | The company provides plays which are unique experiences and bases for thought. Ideally they should be helped to meet wider audiences. |
| 1492 | Robert GOLDING | The quality of productions by Eastern Angles is consistently high and enjoyed by countless people, young and old, living in rural and semi-rural areas who might otherwise never go to a theatrical production. |
| 1493 | Gillian Riegler | Please reconsider your funding for this wonderful company which brings so much enjoyment to the people of East Anglia in schools, community halls and other venues. |

| 1499 | Diana Day | Having discovered Eastern Angles in Suffolk a few years back I was delighted with their performance and professionalism and see them whenever they are in the area. Such culture needs support not cuts. |
| 1500 | Mrs M Hamlet | It would be disastrous if Ipswich were to lose Eastern Angles. They provide theatre for everyone at reasonable cost. Their quality is excellent and there would definitely be a void on the Ipswich cultural front. |
