Eastchester Town Supervisor Anthony Colavita has declined a permit for an adult Eastchester Flag Football League. The Eastchester Flag Football League is a non-profit organization for a bunch of young adults eager to play some flag football. Despite having all pre-requisites including, liability insurance that covers anyone injured, over 95% of the people playing residing in the town of Eastchester, enough field space that does not take away from any other sports organizations, enough funds to pay for field space and lights for night games, and the backing of the town recreation supervisor Sally Veltidi, Handl park supervisor Joe Luciano, town councilman Michael Cahalin, and town clerk Linda Doherty. Mr. Colavita has declined the permit request because of a hypothetical situation, where if you open up one adult sports league to citizens, you may have to open up another one. The ironic aspect of all of this is that the town of Eastchester currently has an adult mens and womens softball league that is being held during the spring and summer. Please keep in mind that setting up an adult sports league is a VERY LONG PROCESS, one that has taken me years to plan and figure out. To say that an adult flag football league is bad or not good for the community is complete nonsense. Please sign this petition to get approval for the Eastchester Adult Flag Football League so us young adults can play. Whether you like sports or not, the disapproval of this flag football league is one where the town supervisor is trying to take the easy way out and failing to help out the citizens of this town better the oppurtunities they previously had. I thank you for reading and for your eventual signatures.
