Comments: I am fed up with child support payment system. It is not for the best interest of the child at all, because while the mother is living just fine off of your income you the father or oblicator is struggling to get by. Makes perfect sense to me! I have one child and I take her for 3 days a week. I still have to pay my ex for child support. I got her to reduce it to 48 a week it would have been 89 dollars a week. Just because I didn't know what I was doing at the time I was signing the agreement of child support. I still have to pay a babysitter for one day and some how find a way to get her to school on Friday. Sense I leave for work at 4:30 A.M. on Friday that should be a piece of cake! Or more money that I would have to give a babysitter to get her there to school.

Comments: Not only is it unfair but once the child turns 18 and if still in school they don't have a cut off age. If the child wants to hang around each year and sign up for school dear old dad has to pay. Even when the child has moved out on his own.... There has to be a way to get fathers together. We are too busy working trying to keep up.

Comments: I live in the state of New York and have joint custody of my 2 children.I am required to pay child support in the amount of 325 per week and am still required to pay for all other expenses related to my children. My ex wife who by the way chose to leave the marriage for my neighbor works part time and earns approxiamately 10000 per year.I am no longer able to do a lot for my children due to the amount of support I pay and they dont receive much from their mother because she spends the support money to pay her bills and also on the 4 new children in her life.I believe if I have the children half of the time that the law should be written differently. The ones that suffer are my 2 kids.

Comments: The child support in the nation i think is biased. I lived in an apartment now live in trailer trying to support a family and the support services say that i must provide (emotional) support and financial but there is no emotional support in money! They are obviously blind to the FACTS of things and reality. They also said i should get second job which i would only then be more torn from my family and why should i work to have to support someone else to live better than me and get free money.

Comments: Child support based on the "entitlement" system is really just a way to punish the fathers with hidden alimony payments that are protected under Child Support.

Comments: I believe in supporting my children. The law in Tennessee is way out of line when it comes to child support. After my child support is paid and my taxes and insurance it only leaves me 36 percent of my check. With gas prices the way they are I will be unable to work.

Comments: I completely agree. Child support laws do not allow the NC parent to live or support another family. And if they don't have a job well they just incur a humongous growing debt. It is ridiculous.

Comments: I am being ripped off by child support in the union county arkansas enforcement offices. I do not have a problem with supporting my children, but I had custody of my two sons for several years and my ex wife didn't pay one red dime. And nothing was done to her legally at all when I brought it up in court, last summer she filed for child support and I'm now paying about 200 dollars per month. How is this just and fair I never get to see my children because she denies visitation and I don't have the money for an attorney.

Comments: In addition to paying the high rate of child support for my two children, I also pay for half of all their medical expenses, and 100% of the private school tuition. By the time both graduate from high-school, I will have spent close to $80,000 in after tax dollars. My wife does not use the child support payments for the children properly and I have no control over how the support is being spent. I firmly believe that child support should be set up in trusts which are for expenses that are for my children and not treated as some form of payment similar to alimony. This is completely unfair to parents that are completely involved in their children's lives, but have no control over how the support is handled by the ex-spouse. In my case, I pay in excess of $3,000 in total support for my children. Most people in this state do not have jobs which provide this much after tax money. This is why I believe that the rates should be adjusted for a parent that has higher income levels. A tiered rate schedule should be implemented. I know that I would have more control and ability to provide direct benefit for my children if I had control of this much money. Please consider this option and realize that it is unfair to a parent that happens to make a larger income. It is unfair for the ex-spouse to receive an excessive amount of support just because the other spouses income is high. It is close to extortion just because the rate schedule is a fixed or flat amount rather than being a tiered rate schedule. Thanks for the opportunity to share my opinion.
