Save Eagle Rock Ridge!
We, the undersigned, agree that the 25.7 acres of open land known collectively as Eagle Rock Ridge, near the intersection of the 134 and 2 freeways, is a major asset to the communities of Eagle Rock and the cities of Glendale and Los Angeles.
This land is currently zoned as Open Space in the Northeast Plan of Los Angeles and remains a critical corridor for open space with scenic mountain, city, and ocean views. In addition to its value as a habitat in its own right, Eagle Rock Ridge is part of a key ecological connection between the San Rafael Hills core habitat and the Mt. Washington area.
Therefore, we hold that Eagle Rock Ridge, currently for sale for $2.4 million by a developer (to be sold in 9 separate parcels), should be acquired by a public agency or land trust to protect it from commercial development. We urge our public officials take swift action to preserve this open space for future generations.
This petition has been drafted by TERA, The Eagle Rock
Association, on behalf of the citizens of Eagle Rock, Los Angeles, and
Glendale.
