NOTICE of PETITION to the CITY of <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />NAMPA, IDAHO<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

Petition for the installation of vehicular speed control devices in or near

Eaglecrest Subdivision, Nampa, Idaho.

[Dated this 15th day of September 2012]

This petition is in direct response to the city of Nampa’s local law enforcement being either unable or unwilling to enforce the residential speed restrictions emplaced by the State of Idaho for non-posted speed limits in a residential area.

After countless complaints to local law enforcement, of recklessly speeding drivers in this area, the residents of Eaglecrest Drive and the surrounding area are insisting on the city of Nampa, to put forth the extra effort to protect the children of this neighborhood from grievous injury or death.

The State of Idaho has a regulated speed limit emplaced for residential areas, whether the speed limit is posted or not.

However, due to the careless driving habits of several individuals that live in and around this area of Eaglecrest Drive, these individuals put our children’s lives at risk everyday by exceeding the regulated speed limits even when children are visibly present and playing in the area and near the streets.

This petition to the City of Nampa of the County of Canyon in the State of Idaho, is agreed upon and signed by the residents of the subdivision of Eaglecrest and the surrounding area in the City of Nampa, the sole concern being for the safety of the children that live and play in this subdivision.

Therefore, this petition is imploring the City of Nampa, for the installation of two vehicle speed control devices, better known as a ‘Speed Bumps’ to be located permanently on the road known as West Eaglecrest Drive in the subdivision known as ‘Eaglecrest’ located off Cassia Street.

These speed bumps are to be installed at appropriate locations on

W. Eaglecrest Dr.for the sole purpose as effective vehicle speed control devices.

The speed bumps should be located approximately fifty feet for the first and one hundred fifty feet for the second, from the intersection of W. Eaglecrest Dr. and N. Eagleview St., heading Westerly toward the cul-de-sac.

It is asked that these speed control devices cover enough of width of the street so that their intended purpose will not to be circumvented, by going around them.

True, we are asking that speed bumps be placed on a dead end street, and as redundant as this may sound, we, the residents feel it is absolutely necessary, as some of the offenders that are violently exceeding this area’s speed limit happen to live on this very street.

This area’s residents can not deter these offenders verbally and local law enforcement can or will not enforce the law for the safety of our children.

We, the people, feel the cost of these speed control devices is well worth the expenditure of funds in order to protect the safety of our children from those that will not govern their own actions.

Thank You
