Due to constant problems with Dundee City Council not allowing us to skate in their sports halls as they claim that our skates (which are designed for indoor use) will damage the flooring. Dundee City Council were offered references from Glasgow Roller Girls, Auld Reekie Roller Girls and Granite City Roller Girls explaining that they train on the same flooring and no damage has been done. Still no help or other explanations to why we could not train in Dundee sports halls were given from Dundee City Council.

Dundee College has handed back our current venue McTaggart Centre and as of 24th February 2010, Dundee Destroyers now no longer have anywhere to train.

We currently have 25 members in our league and our popularity is growing daily. With a following gradually increasing, we would hate to see Dundee lose out on such an interesting and unique sport for women aged 18 and over.

We have recently been awarded nearly £10K from National Lottery Awards For All, however due to losing our venue the future for our roller derby league looks grim.

We had planned to make our début at Highland Fling, Scotland's first Roller Derby Tournament in Aberdeen on 22nd/23rd May 2010, which is also were we will be holding a memorial in honour of our roller derby sister "Rippin Kittin" who was taken from us earlier this year.

If we cannot secure another training venue our league will demise and our chances of competing at the Scottish tournament will have gone.

Roller derby is quickly taking the UK & worldwide by storm. The USA is leading the way with roller derby being a televised and highly recognised sport.
