   Comments: I am earning less now than 5 years ago despite cost of living increasing over the same time period. 2 teaching credentials, MA and lots of additional classes to keep current in this field is standard for most Special Education teachers, as well as classroom teachers. All this comes at extra expense and personal time throughout the year. Teachers shouldn't be "taxed" because they are dedicated to the students. Just a teacher has become a standard phrase in some areas of business, yet no one would have an education to be whatever their dream is, without teachers.
