Name: Ross Thomson on Feb 24, 2010Comments: For 27 years there have been to many broken promises and empty committments over this much needed development. In 2007 Alex Salmond promised to dual the A96 and A90....we're still waiting. I am dedicated to fighting for these developments. They are vital for safety, for business and to bring North East roads into today. I will exert the pressure I can and do what I can to see those roads dualled and dualled sooner rather than laterFlag

Name: Karen & Brian Henderson on Feb 27, 2010Comments: High time we had dual carriage ways on this road, due to slow drivers and no passing places. The Inveramsey Bridge slows everyone down and bunches everyone up, and people get inpatient. It should have been sorted out when doing the Inverurie bypass. MADNESSFlag

Name: Stewart Family on Mar 3, 2010Comments: The A96 must be one of slowest journeys in Scotland taking around 3 hours to do the 110mls between Aberdeen and Inverness, with an average speed of around 40mph for the overall trip.Flag

Name: Steve on Mar 3, 2010Comments: Too much slow traffic on the A96 at all times of the day leads to bunching up of traffic, and occasional overtaking lanes are not always long enough to let all the faster vechicles past. Far too many accidents are happening on the route, sadly all to often leading to loss of life.Flag

Name: Bernard Henderson on Mar 3, 2010Comments: The A96 is a disgrace. Even the Inverurie bypass needs a bypass at peak times in the morning and teatime, it takes so long to get past Inverurie at both of these times of the day. Also, many people use the rat-run through Chapel of Garioch to avoid the Inveramsey Bridge, which the residents of the village can't be too happy about. The main route between the oil capital of Europe (Aberdeen) and the fastest growing city in Europe (Inverness supposedly) should be a dual carriageway. It is little better than a farm track compared to the roads in the central belt.Flag

Name: Harold Leil on Mar 10, 2010Comments: They made a big mistake when they did not dual the Inverurie by-pass. Anything north of the Central Belt just seems to br ignored regarding road safety, sutch as a flyover @ Laurencekirk. The Inveramsay Bridge is another big problem, it could be solved with a flyover as well, the route of the old road was over the top of the railway line, the old bridge is still there, it's always plenty of talk & nothing gets done.Flag

Name: M Stewart on Mar 11, 2010Comments: Even at 6am in the mornings on the A96 traffic gets stuck behind slow trucks coming from Elgin to Aberdeen and i have seen many cars and vans use the Chapel of Garioch shortcut even this early in the mornings. Most evenings the traffic is nose to tail the whole length of the Inverurie bypass queuing as far back as Thainstone. One of the worst roads in Scotland!Flag

Name: Colin Finlayson on Mar 11, 2010Comments: The A96, one of Scotlands most important roads linking Aberdeen and Inverness comes to a standstill in both Nairn and Elgin due to people loading shopping at the roadside, almost laughable. Around 15,000 vehicles pass through both towns every day yet no further forward in terms of a bypass. Even the traffic lights at Tesco in Keith favour the supermarket every time. Badly needing upgraded!!!!Flag

Name: Josh Thomson on Apr 13, 2010Comments: A96 needs complete upgrade, traffic can flow well at times until you come up behind slow lorries and tractors and within minutes massive taibacks of traffic occur. Even early mornings from 5.30am onwards you have smaller lorries tailgating artic trucks trying to get past thus making it difficult for cars and vans to pass safely.Flag

It was down to people not understanding the need that SLOOOW driving can cause road rage, it's no wonder there are so many fatal and near fatal accidents - it is NOT ok to sit at 45mph in a 60 zone!Flag
