The West Linn-Wilsonville School District (the "District") currently offers children in the K-5 primary schools the opportunity to become bilingual and bi-literate in two languages, English and Spanish, through the District's Dual Language Immersion Program (the "Program"). The Program is offered at Lowrie Primary and Trillium Creek Primary Schools. The enrollment for the Program is based on a lottery system due to the number of interested families is greater than the number of spots available. Once enrolled in the Program families are expected to commit to the full 6 years in the Program. Currently the Program does not allow for giving preference to family members of enrolled students and, after 2 full years of running the Program, is now creating a hardship on the enrolled families.
