How can mind altering drugs stabilize a mind, except by destroying it? Man must harness his passions, not subjugate them. One cannot feel the joy of life, without its sadness. Your studies quantify the subjective and your theorems are based on authority, not in logic. (Unless you count operative logic, which is fallacious.) You should not be let to prescribe drugs.Flag

I stopped taking it. I deal with the problem day to day and don't have to deal with the drug's side effect -- lethargy. Personally, I think that psychiatry has a very limited application and that for the most part it is a hoax perpetrated by professionals who aren't willing to admit it is a hoax when they realize the enormity of the hoax and how much time and money was wasted becoming a purveyor of mental magic. Of course the HUGE fees they accept also stymy any hope of reform. Dr. Szaz is correct. It is a racket. The complicity between the chemical purveyors of Big Pharma and the American Psychiatric Association is criminal. The laws would be changed except that the politicians accept HUGE contributions from both the pharmaceutical companies and the APA which negates any possibility of reform.Flag

My young beautiful son has suffered horrific catastrophic harm as a result of "medication's" prescribed due to erroneous diagnosis promoted by the "DSM." The obvious goal to broaden "diagnostic spectrum" as a means to - further - promote dangerous, harmful drugs, is the epitome of promoting reckless endangerment with potential risk to cause catastrophic harm.Flag

We should not allow children to be used as guinea pigs to facilitate the growth of pharmaceutical markets in pediatric mental health.Flag

I hate how the pharmaceutical companies invent a drug and then sort out/diagnose a so called disease to go with it so they can sell their drugs through doctors, pharmacies and make millions at ordinary people's expense. I have been admitted to hospital a number of times with reactions to prescription drugs that are supposed to do me good, yet do my gross harm. The only thing that 'counts' in this world seems to be money and greed and peoples' expense.Flag

I finally started looking at my diet, changed that, and alot of symptoms went away. I no longer take any of these pills and feel fantastic. Diet and nutrition need to be looked at very carefully when it comes to these types of diseases. Not just prescribing another pill if one doesn't work.Flag
