As far as my experience in education is concerned, education on drugs has been given primarily by Police Officers. This seems wrong to me as the information given to students is based on very 'one sided' experiences and propaganda. The atmosphere created during these sessions is not one that encourages open discussion about drugs and their effects on people. I believe it would be more beneficial for students if drugs talks in schools were to be given by scientists. This way, students receive the truth and facts about drugs. This would also create an atmosphere in which students can freely discuss and express their thoughts on the subject without their opinion being influenced by the presence of a law enforcer.
