Comments: Older drivers are about as competent as 10 year olds after 65....they should be re-examined.

Comments: Just yesterday I watched an elderly man nearly kill a small child in the median of a shopping mall, by not paying attention and cutting the turn too soon. Then the elderly man sat in his car dazed and confused blocking other patrons from passing. I see examples of impaired driving by the elderly on a daily basis, it scares me, moreso than the new teenage driver, at least they have all of their motor functions. I think seniors should be tested every year after age 55 to ascertain their driving ability. Reflexes, response time, attention span etc..

Comments: I have been behind the elderly drivers of America before and they can barely see over the steering wheel let alone the road! They need to be retested for their drivers license every year after the age of 60! Their eye sight and reaction time are very far behind the rest of the drivers out on the road.

Comments: I was driving one day around 6 p.m. and this older lady was driving in front of me. She wasn't paying much attention so I tried to stay a safe distance behind her. About 2 minutes after slowing down she hit a young girl around the age or 15 who was riding her bike. I called the cops and tried to calm the girl down but I didn't move her for fear that her neck was broken. The ambulance arrived later. The older lady just said "Well I didn't see her."

Comments: I actually took a stand and did a speech on how senior citizens the age of 65 should re-take their driver's test over again, I hope one day it comes true because there's a lot of them out on the roads that seriously shouldn't be!

Comments: I agree w/your petiton. I've been behind Senior Citizens who cant even see over the stearing wheel. Please get them off the road, or start a group that will drive them place they need to go. I soon will be a senior, but I'm getting my daughter to drive me around. I dont want to cause any accidents.

Comments: While I believe that the majority of seniors would pass the tests and continue to pass well into their 60's, 70's, even 80's, I do believe that the tests should to determine it. While I value my independence greatly I would hope that as I am getting older I would not want to be driving on the road of if I am not safely able to do so.

Comments: The senior citizen building is located one block from our high school, and almost every day at lunch, a senior citizen will pull out of the parking lot onto the street without even watching for fast high school drivers that speed around the corner. It is an accident waiting to happen.
