Retesting drivers over the age of 55

It has occurred to myself and many others whom I speak with that there is a very large potential hazard just waiting to happen to each and every one of us every day we leave our homes. This occurs simply by us taking the chance of becoming a potential obstacle for one of the hundreds of thousands of senior citizens that are swerving our roads each and every day. We must put a stop to elders over the age of 55 from endangering our lives and there own. When do we stop the accidents from happening Most people may not see the problem until they are at a funeral for a family member or their best friend because a driver aged 74 couldn\'t see the stoplight turn red or their reaction time just wasn\'t fast enough to stop in time for the 4 yr. old that ran into the street. Maybe now you\'ll see where I\'m coming from. We have a problem at hand that needs to be taken care of and I pray with the help of all the drivers and non-drivers we can help to get a law passed which will require all drivers retake a written and behind the wheel test at the ages of 55, 60, 65 and every 2 years thereafter. This will help to ensure that all drivers are capable of driving and understand all driving laws. If you know what I\'m talking about you will do the right thing. Please Help. Please sign the petition below to urge you\'re federal, state, and local elected officials to amend a new law into action immediately. Once we have a sufficient number of signatures, we will forward the petition to members of Congress, governors, state representatives, mayors and other elected officials who may have an influence on this vote. PRIVACY NOTICE: Your email address will NOT be forwarded with the petition nor shared with anyone outside our organization. We are only collecting your contact information to aid with local organizing. As this battle heats up, we will be targeting specific members of Congress by state and congressional district, and we will be working with local organizers around the country. The more detailed the contact information you provide, the better we can inform you how to help in a targeted way in your own state.

Maybe people should only drive from 40 to 55 then be retested. LOL You are all quite funny

Comments: You all are pretty retarded. You are so set on seeing old people off the roads because of their age only! Retesting should be done yes but 55 is quite young. As you hit 65 and become a "senior citizen" is when i believe you need to begin retesting. And for those of you who by reading your post you seem to think old people are the problem, look at the statistics, its not the 55 year olds you need to be worried about, look at the teens and the wreckless drivers you see everyday, retest them too!
