Comments: it would help to stop all the binge drinking and teach teens to be responsible with their liquor. it would also help because it would not be such a rebellious thing to do, like it is now

Comments: I believe the drinking age should be lowered for the above reasons and the simple fact that people younger than 21 years of age want to drink they will. I honestly believe there would be less of an impact than anyone really thinks.

Comments: The law should allow 18 year olds to drink, but should also strictly enforce underage drinking after that. The current laws create more crime and danger than if they were changed. If the alcohol companies were controlling the government the way that the cigarette companies do, it would also be lowered to 18.

Comments: Plain and simple, 18 year olds should be allowed to drink! We pay taxes and are able to vote, we fight in wars and are old enogh to be exposed sexually in magizines but we cant drink! To me that just does'nt seem fair. We can be charged as adults in crimes but we cant drink a bud light! Give me a fucking BREAK!

Comments: its funny how we are able to smoke join the military or even be punished to death at 18 but can't even have a little liquor... i think that should change ofcourse it should have its limits... (alot of 18-20 year olds abuse alcohol already if it were legal i think a few more would aswell...)

Comments: I am 19 years old and I think the drinking age should be lowered because you are considered an adult at 18 and basically can do whatever you want from 18 on

Comments: The US is behind every country in terms of common sense. We use the standard system instead of metric, in the south they dont sell alcohol on Sunday, and of course the drinking age is 21. There are so many reasons I could not write them all. It is fucking ridiculous. Fight the power

Comments: if 18 is considered the age of consent, anyone 18 or over should be able to make all of their own decisions and take the consequences. The state should not be restricting alcohol, tobacco, marijuana or forcing us to wear seatbelts in our own cars!!!

Comments: The US was built under religious beliefs and that is not the case anymore. People that are 18 can do millions of things including: buying cigarettes, owning a gun, go to bars and clubs, have credit cards, own their own car, house and land, start their own business, sign for loans, drive, join the military if they wish, not live at home legally, etc. the list can go on and on. 18 is considered an adult and they need to be treated as such as far as responsibility goes that INCLUDES WHAT WILL HAPPEN IF THEY DRINK ALCOHOL! their are people right now as you read this trying to get someone of age to buy alcohol and others are drinking. The only reason it had gotten lowered MANY YEARS AGO was because someone made the rong decisions when they were under the influence of alcohol and someone freaked out and created a MAJOR controversy about it getting the attention of someone in the supreme court. People around 18-20 have to go into hiding per say to be able to drink because of this issue. If the drinking age was lowered then their wouldn't be as many people as their are today binge drinking and causing harm to themselves! The only reason they binge drink is so that they can get rid of the craving of alcohol that our bodies crave at times and not worry about getting cought and having to pay fines or go to jail. It is about time that the US started to treat people 18-20 years of age as the adults that we are instead of treating us as if we are still minors !
