Name: Don & Jane Schreiber on May 17, 2008Comments: In US supply terms, Mora, Colfax, Rio Arriba east of the Chama, the possible recovery amount is tiny. Tiny. A few days of US demand, at most. To ruin this country forever, to enrich a few Texans and their stockholders, it would be criminal. Criminal.Flag

Name: Carisa Joseph on May 19, 2008Comments: I am certain that I do not want to see Mora county degraded by oil and gas drilling. What drilling does occur should be done in a way that contributes to the local economy, benefitting local families, without leaving behind environmental or social problems that will poison the children of this and future generations. I believe that oil and gas could be responsibly removed from Mora County, but I am currently against any drilling because my experience has been that it is very damaging to the nearby area.Flag

Name: Marc Choyt on May 20, 2008Comments: I have 180 acres, water rights and mineral rights in Ocate Valley and I strongly oppose any drilling in Mora. I hunt in Mora and I rent my property for grazing cattle. Mora County should not be treaty as a colony for TX corporations to exploit so that some share holder can buy another gas guzzling car or build some new mansion. The pristine environment of Mora is NOT FOR SALE.Flag

Name: Helen Chantler on May 26, 2008Comments: As someone just down the ditch from a person who has sold their oil lease, I am strongly opposed to drilling in Ocate. The drilling process will pollute the water, and destroy the pristine environment in the valley. Mora should not be treated as a colony so that some pig in Texas can buy a bigger house.Flag

Name: Ellen Dupuy on Jun 15, 2008Comments: Please think long term - water is as important as oil...please protect it. We can't drink oil and the air we breathe will be filled with pollution...think of our children and future generations. To much damage is being done to our beautiful New Mexico environment.Flag

Name: Eileen Keyes on Jun 16, 2008Comments: Please do not allow oil and gas drilling on state land in our beautiful, pristine area. It will destroy our quality of life, and our property values. It breaks my heart to think of the destruction of the beauty I love so, and the threat of contaminated water. Many people make their living in connection with elk hunting, and their livelihood could be destroyed. Please don't allow drilling in our area. It is a special place, as lovely as Valle Vidal, and should be spared.Flag

Name: Susan Harimander Clark on Jun 22, 2008Comments: Oil is a non-renewable resource. We need to put all our creativity and resources into developing renewables: a solar hot water heater on every roof (already in Japan back in the 80's!); a buried rain water collector under every downspot; cars that are hybrids or let's get going on hydrogen fuel cell technology; ; the elimination of plastic bags littering our landscape (never biodegrading and polluting our waterways).....Flag

Name: Aravis Kurtiz on Jul 6, 2009Comments: I am terribly saddened at the idea of seeing the beautiful countryside I grew up in turned into a landscape of oil wells; furthermore, I am deeply concerned about the prospect of raising my children in the cesspool of chemicals that would be left in our water supply by the oil companies use of fracking.Flag

Name: Katherine Harris on Jul 6, 2009Comments: I have lived in Mora County since 1988 and been a land owner since 1990, I chose this place because of its pristine environment in which to raise a family. We in Guadalupita depend on springs to supply us with our water; this massive oil and gas project would have a totally harmful effect on our peacefull and pure environment. I urge you to oppose this project.Flag

As far as I am concerned you are in for a fight, I will not have my life altered by greedy rich people.Flag

Please do not drill for oil or gas or helium or anything else on our state lands in Mora county or anywhere else. It is time for a new way of thinking.Flag

Name: Floyd And Maxien Maes on Oct 22, 2009Comments: Some people believe that jobs will be made available to the community if the drilling companies lease the land in Mora. There is no guarantee this will occur and if there are positions to be filled we are concerned that they will be meager and hazardous to the health of the workers and the community.Flag
