He has been a staple in the program for years now. However the actor & actress who play Steve & Kayla have come in & brought nothing, no ratings, nothing at all. Whereas John & Marlena are proven ratings getters. Its makes no sense to fire Drake & I will be extremely disappointed if you do. I have watched since 1996 & I've seen a lot of horrible sl's & such, but this would be the worse thing I've ever seen happen to dool. Jarlena is the only reason that I've stuck around through a lot of the bad times. don't take my reason to watch away!! FIRE Steve & Kayla, we were fine w/ out them for years & would be perfectly fine w/ out them again!!!!!Flag

Dont you think something is wrong when Deidre can't stop her sobbing after Marlena tells John to "let go" And then Ali and Martha go to comfort her and THEY begin sobbing! These people love and respect Drake because he is an amazing actor AND person. Don't let J&M die. We the fans have waited far too long to see J&M reunite and now we get THIS It's BULL CRAP. If you don't bring Drake back, I will no longer watch Days. You're going to lose the majority of J&M fans and DAYS will die. Let John Black die and DAYS dies with him.Flag

Name: Jennifer W. on Oct 16, 2007Comments: Dear Mr. Corday, Mr. Scott and Mr. Sheffer, I have watched DOOL for 25 years (at least) and during that time I have seen a lot of crap that made we want to give up the show for good. Do you know why I continued to watch Because of Drake and Deidre! They have made the show bearable even when the storylines were unbelievably stupid (even by soap opera standards!) The wonderful Macdonald Carey must be spinning in his grave at what you are doing to Days. And it is an insult to air "Cordy's make-up crisis" on the same episode where John is slowly dying. Get rid of the no-talent, teeny-bopper hacks and the ridiculous "sorority" storyline. It adds nothing to the show, and is an affront to the viewers who were hoping that with the arrival of Hogan Sheffer there would be thoughtful, intelligent storylines for a change. Boy, were we wrong about that! If you truly care about Days (and I'm beginning to wonder if you do) then please sign Drake to a new contract ASAP. Even if the show is fated to end in 2009, I want to see Drake on screen with good material until the very last episode airs! If you refuse to re-sign Drake, however, I will no longer be watching, along with thousands of others who have had enough of this bull****!Flag

I am very upset that he will no longer be on the show, and my husband who at first didn't care for John (but grew to think he is great) said to me after watching John get hit by that car, " If John, (one eye, he calls him) dies I am not going to watch it anymore". We both love him and would like to see him come back to the show.Flag
