Governor Mapp: Throughout your career you have always put the territory and its diverse population first! You’ve been a popular Senator and Lt. Governor, a respectable businessman, a statesman, a visionary, a problem solver and recognize by many as one who understands government and what it takes to create balance and harmony between ordinary citizens’ needs and “smart development” policies. And for that, you have gained extraordinary support and respect from the business community and the people of the United States Virgin Islands. The citizens of these United States Virgin Islands are again desperately searching for your style of “smart leadership” at the helm to lead us into the 21st century! We are looking for a governor who will represent the interest of the citizens of the United States Virgin Islands when negotiating with investors to bring “smart development” into the territory. Development that will be eco-friendly yet provide meaningful high-wage jobs at the same time expanding local entrepreneurship. We are looking for a governor who understands technology and how it can be used to make government run more efficiently. We are looking for a governor that will truly make education a priority and will invest in building “smart schools” and developing “smart students” who will be ready for the 21st century. We are looking for a governor that understands the reason for the failure of our healthcare system, but most importantly a governor who knows what it takes to make it work for us! We are looking for a governor that understands these issues and who will work towards solving these problems without giving away or selling off the Virgin Islands future to the highest bidders.
