The news has finally come through and Dr. Aafia is coming home. It has been an exhausting road to reach this point but your refusal to stop pushing clearly forced their hand. We will remain observant until she is fully free and reunited with her family.
We believe in peace, justice and fairness. In a democratic society torture and injustice cannot prevail. The case of Dr.Aafia Siddiqui is a stark reminder to us all that unless we adhere to our values we are in danger of putting our future generations and ourselves at risk at the hands of those who defy all norms of democracy and humanity. Dr. Aafia Siddiqui is a female prisoner in the United States accused of crimes she did not commit and has gone from an independent neuroscientist to a frail creature who has been raped, tortured and separated fromone of her children who issuspected to have been killed by her captors. Her mental health has deteriorated to the point of ‘psychosis’. She has been strip searched in male prisons and abused. To put it simply, her body and soul have been systematically destroyed. All decent people who believe in justice and fairness should deplore such behaviour and stand up shoulder to shoulder with those who dare challenge the abusers. For this reason, we urge you to join us in bringing an end to this woman’s inhuman treatment by the authorities. We appeal to the US & UK Governments to take responsibility for ensuring that Dr.Aafia Siddiqui's case is dealt with fairly, competently and humanely and in accordance with the letter as well as the spirit of International Conventions and human rights.
Reaching this level of support feels heavier than I expected because the pain surrounding her case remains so constant. It is draining to keep pushing for someone who has been through so much but seeing people refuse to look away keeps me moving forward.

The weight of this struggle grows heavier by the day and my patience is fraying. We are nearing one hundred signatures but we cannot afford to lose momentum now while the authorities ignore her suffering. Push this forward because the silence around her case is unacceptable.

This woman deserves justice after the terrorist CIA has held and tortured her and her children for years. This is injustice and MUST be reversed and those guilty punished to the fullest extent.

Fair treatment and a fair trial for Aafia. Rendition and torture are shameful practices that do not enhance security or anti-terrorism in the world.
