Name: Ed Arzouian on Mar 14, 2009Comments: More needless waste on a project that wlll actually damage the downtown core. If this is built for years people will ask, "why did we do this, when can we fix it." Greenspace will be lost. Parking spaces will be lost. Businesses will be hurt first by the construction and then by the traffic leaving the downtown core. Pedestrians will be hindered. There is no way to make a roundabout efficent for vehicles and allow pedestrians to cross in a reasonable and expeditious manner. This idea is a step back in time to the 20th century. Any comparisons to theJohnson City roundabout are ridiculous. The vehicular trafffic, geography, pedestrian traffic and usage are totally different.Flag

Tax payers that are already trying to pay of national dept. 4 Mr. Mayor set an example for the rest of America stop the waste. Just because it from the state or fed does not mean we should just use money for some we do not need. 5 As for the proposed park on the corner of Court and State St. I hope it does not become an extension of the regular Friday night bar party on State street.Flag

The problem as I see it is that the Western democracies can hardly tell China how to act, when they have themselves undermined human nature, by calling unborn human beings blobs of tissue . I mean, come on, get real people. Lets end all abortion. Its not good the children, nor for women in the Western world either, although there is an illusion of choice here. Read the studies on psychological trauma which follows. Lets not be hypocrites.Flag

Name: Mohamed on Jun 4, 2012Comments: How bothersome.. sotohing and suicide.. why not just suicide? It seems like the latest trend in the suicidal community. You see more and more see news reports of the cool kid from the blog, pulling off some killing spree before ending his life. Any depressed dude feeling suicidal, who ever played Counter-strike or Unreal Tournament, thinking about the options to end his life, will nowadays consider to do something like the other dude that went unstoppable. That's the awful trend. And like any trend is caused by abundant exposure, we are being flooded with new crazy reports like these on the 8 pm news. There should be a law against it. This is much more harmful than Eminem's Explicit Lyrics. If you have nothing to lose, why not become famous? Maybe we shouldn't give them the credit/attention in the media what they are aiming for. Maybe we should give them the message it is not that original anymore. Not that cool. We should give them the message that you will not make it on the news that easily anymore. Try something new, like going for council. Look for help. That should be cool. That should be the new trend. Why not report on people's succes stories, depressions that refrained from sotohings, and now live happy lifes. Make the stories up if you have to. Those people should be getting more attention than those stupid sprayers. Those are the role models, the real heroes.Flag

It brought back memories of controversies surrounding the works of Tracy Emin and Damien Hurst. Personally I think there are lots of talented artists out there who never get the critical acclaim they deserve. For the most part I think success and price tags are often down to hype, never to the quality and dept of the artist involved.Flag

I was a biology major and didn't even have a course in evolution! I am trying to catch up through my own reading and attempting to include evolutionary thinking in my medical teaching and research.Flag

Name: Goran on Jan 19, 2013Comments: This really is gtntieg a bit additional subjective, but I much prefer the Zune Marketplace. The interface is colorful, has additional flair, and some cool features like Mixview' that let you quickly see related albums, songs, or other users related to what you're listening to. Clicking on one of those will center on that item, and another set of neighbors will come into view, allowing you to navigate around exploring by similar artists, songs, or users. Speaking of users, the Zune Social is also great fun, letting you find others with shared tastes and becoming friends with them. You then can listen to a playlist created based on an amalgamation of what all your friends are listening to, which is also enjoyable. Those concerned with privacy will be relieved to know you can prevent the public from seeing your personal listening habits if you so choose.Flag
