As Parents, Guardians and Community Members in the Dorsey community, we support the Parent-Led Dorsey Family United organization in their school reform work at Dorsey. We agree with the ideas they are pushing for at Dorsey, including their call for: Significant Class Size Reduction Decision making Power for the Parent/Student/Teacher led School Site Council over all budgets and all hiring (including hiring of administrators) More resources devoted to the classroom and systems established to improve communication between all stakeholders in order to support the education provided for every student. An increase in the number of counselors and support services for students A real Vocational Education Program AND Expanding AP course offerings We support Dorsey Family United, the entire Dorsey staff and administrators to work together with the Local District and School Board to implement these changes at Dorsey because our students deserve the very best opportunities and our community deserves to play an active role in the school.
