   Comments: This is terribly stupid. Skype has never worked well for me and it is NOT good at anything that isn't video calling. Seriously Microsoft, I've been using MSN/WLM since the beginning of the 2000s and I have hardly any complaints about it. I can't say the same about Skype... messages that never send, video calling not working properly randomly, crashes, hangs, prevents running local servers, etc. Don't do it.

    Comments: Skype crashes too much (especially when I'm gaming), it's hard to use, and it feels less personal and much uglier compared to Windows Live Messenger, since it's not customizable at all. On top of all that, MSN's been here for us for over ten years.

    Comments: Skype just does not compare to Windows Live Messenger. The interface, features, everything fall short. If they were to replace Skype's horrid instant messenger with Windows Live, I would be content. But so far this is a downgrade, not an upgrade.

    Comments: WLM has been my IM of choice for over 10 years now, I already have skype, but it doesn't compare to WLM when it comes to pure chatting. It is more centred around making calls. Please don't ditch our beloved messenger!

    Comments: I REALLY hate Microsoft right now. There's a reason I never moved to Skype when it first came out. All I want is a simple program where I can chat with my friends. I don't need all these stupid features like voice/video calling. If I really wanted to call someone I would ask them for their phone number. I REALLY hope they don't decide to force everyone to move over. I mean even if they just stop updating MSN Messenger and leave it as an as is program I would be happy but it doesn't seem like that will be happening. I guess it's time to look for a new chat program.

    Comments: I recently installed skype and after 5 days of using it, the msn live messenger is IHO is supperior to the skype.product My bigest complalint with skype is not being able to see who have added or removed me from their windows live contact list , and not being able to Block / unbloack my windows live contatcts from withing the Skype application. forcing me to re install the windows live messengewr to be able to block / unblock windows live users, this whole migration from windows live & is just Ill conceived. My love of Microsoft has been waining over the past 4 years, with the direction microsoft is taking for windows 7 & windows 8 has me seriouly wonder how long it will be bedfor i abandon Windows related platforms all together., in favour of Linux or Ubuntu or Debian. In any event we need to keep the Widows live messenger. as i dont feel Skype is as funcotional as msn messenger was.

    Comments: Replacing Windows Live with Skype is as premature a move as forcing windows 8 on people. Microsoft is making mistakes left and right. You can't send free sms messages with skype. You can't pick and choose which contacts to go invisible to with skype, and you can't video chat windows live contacts with skype. WTF are you guys doing?!
