Taking responsibility away from County Councils in general is a terrible mistake as there is a concern for landowners near boreholes. There is a major restriction on landowners because they receive no help or compensation. We in laois will be automatically transferred over to Bord Gais. Some information could be lost in transit which can have an affect on local expertise. At present, if we have a problem with sewerage we call the council and they deal with it, will we get the same service in the future? The Council Staff are noted for their first class service and efficiency. Will we get the same service in 2017 and will we be charged even more for it? There is a meter installation programme which will oversee 160,000 meters installed and a live call centre. Come on we are losing all of our local services even our motor tax office wont be dealing with licensing locally as there is a new sized credit card one now for provisional and full licenced drivers.
