we actually got the green light for the restaurant in shetland. honestly i still cant believe it but we pulled it off together. keep an eye out for the opening because we definitely deserve a good meal after this.
To say that if a restaurant is not to be accessible by foot, but only by car, dismisses the existence of the majority of the population of the islands. Of course the council may only want restaurants within the confines of Lerwick but some of us live in other places!

Since I moved to Shetland 14 years ago, I have always said one thing missing is an Italian restaurant. There are plenty of other places people drive to, like Frankie's in Brae, or Busta House , for a good meal so the reasons for rejection are crazy.

Planners, "what is good for the goose is good for the gander"you allowed planning for the Breiwick Cafe, so how can you refuse an identical planning application? Admit that you got it wrong, and let the restaurant be built.

Utter disgrace, rural areas pump millions into the Shetland economy. Carbon footprint will reduce for all of us not having to travel into the toon. SIC planners should seriously review and change this piece of planning policy.

This sounds a wonderful idea and something Shetland needs, more eating places with nice views. Surely it is nonsense for Shetland Islands Council to turn down the application. We would certainly be using this facility.

Would save me over 25 miles driving coming from Whalsay compared with going to Lerwick for a meal. Its about time that the the authorities realise that there are people in Shetland that don't live in Lerwick and start suporting them. Good luck with your new venture.

I think that this restaurant should be allowed to go ahead,it is doing no harm to anyone or anything and is something that is needed in the area and will be a big success (.Maybe it is because the sic planners cannot get to draw up the plans so that they can make a mess of it as they always do and waste millions on their mistakes)
