My husband of 18 years, who I have been in a relationship with for 23 years, came to Britain in 1989. He has been employed since arrival,paying tax and national insurance. We have 3 daughters aged 21,16 & 13 years. My husband believed his status here was legal, being issued with British passports in 1997 and again in 2007. The Home Office have arrested and detained my husband(Dungavel IRC near Glasgow, after they "authorised a family split"- we live in Manchester!),serving him with a deportation order which we are appealing.
