UPDATE II (7/7/2015) - The developer has officially withdrawn the application for this development, per the LR Planning Commission on 7/6/2015.

UPDATE:The Little Rock Planning Commission hearing was deferred/postponed until Thursday, July 16 at 4PM in City Hall, located at 500 W. Markham Street.

The developer, Chris Milligan of Dwellings, Inc, is "requesting to develop the land for zero lot line homes, with an average lot square footage of 6404sf, all while maintaining the R-2 zoning. They are requesting that the minimum square footage of the lots be reduced to 4000 to 7000, with minimum lot widths of no narrower than 35 feet wide."

"The property shall have a gated entrance off of Kaylin Drive, crossing over a small bridge into the neighborhood. We are proposing 13 home sites (16 total lots), with common areas within the community."

The proposed area is shown in the picture above. It is surrounded by Kaylin Drive, Markwood Road, Wingate Drive, and West Markham Street. The total land mass is about 3 (THREE) acres, for the proposed 13 homes. The development will be accessed from Kaylin Drive, increasing the traffic from construction and eventually residents on Markwood, Red Oak Lane and Nob Hill Cove.The development will be gated and the drive will be privately owned. This means the city will have no jurisdiction over any issues that occur as a result of this development.

The community is adamantly opposed to this and we believe the proposed Kaylin Heights development is not good use of this land. It will exacerbate existing drainage and flooding issues, destroy vital green space and wildlife, cause noise and air pollution, and increase traffic and safety issues.

We respectfully ask the board to NOT approve this development. If this is not acceptable, we ask that further land and water studies be done to determine the impact this development will have on the area.
