The petition
Considering the skills that Donovan Deame has in the sport of lacrosse, we feel that he should be bumped up to the varsity level. He is a hard-working induvidual with a love for the sport.
-=Background Information=-
He was cut freshman year as a defenceman. He was severely mortified and heartbroken, but nonetheless, this event inspired him to pursue the position of midfield (middie). He has greatly improved his stick skills and speed, all to show up Coach Theiss.
After Theiss left the team, Donovan felt he should continue his training and show up Theiss in the Lake Brantley game to take place in 2008. This is now not possible, for Donovan has been bumped down to Junior Varsity.
-=Reasons=-
1. Donovan's level of play is much higher than that of the majority of the JV team. Although the team will indeed get better, this will take a while. Donovan will not get better as a player unless he is challenged by players of a higher skill level.
2. (Based on the views of other players and parents) Donovan is a much better player than some of the varsity players at this time.
"Dono, bro, you're probably like the best player on JV last year"

3. Donovan has a reason to play. He wants to get better as a player and to prove to Coach Theiss that cutting him was a mistake.
4. The Winter Springs Varsity Lacrosse program is a very successful one, with a record of over 100 wins and less than 20 losses. Winter Springs Athletics will be hit very hard upon losing the senior class of 2008. In order to help maintain a winning record, we need a good lineup of players. How can Donovan possibly hope to contribute to this lineup if he has not played of practiced with the current varsity team?
All in all, Donovan has the potential of becoming a great lacrosse player. But without the chance to obtain this goal, it will never happen.
Before signing, read the background information and put yourself in this position that Donovan is facing right now. How would you feel?
You have the chance of not only creating a better Varsity Lacrosse team, but greatly improving the morale of a saddened player.
