Comments: Domperidone is a compounded medication, available in 37 other countries, non prescription in about 10 other countries. An alternative to metoclopramide for gastroparesis (food doesn't empty out of the stomach). I just had to turn a patient away, who cried, because she hoped she would be able to eat again! She always feels like she just ate too much, even when it's been hours or days since she ate anything. State board says even though the doctor requested me to make this for her, I can't. The FDA OK'd this last year for use in horses, and even with "black box" warnings on metoclopramide, they won't give humans this medicine. I understand that there is no money in this for Big Pharma (who the FDA caters to) but lets put patients first here!!!

Comments: Patients in the United States need the FDA to approve the drug, Domperidone. My doctor put me on it and I had to order it from the UK. I went on a few sites from Canada and they said they can no longer ship to the U.S. I have been on several medicines for my stomach that didn't work. My doctor is hopeful Domperidone will work.

Comments: Domperidone is the only drug which helped me with gastroparesis. I wrote to the FDA and they replied. They said to send my email to my doctor and if he will fill out a specific form which will label "dom" as an experimental drug I would be able to get it. I have sent this info to my dr. and have not heard anything yet.

Comments: This drug is a miracle for people with Gastroparesis and if you do have a humanitarian form on file with the FDA, there are only a few pharmacies in the United States you can get the drug from and the cost is astronomical compared to what it is around the world by online pharmacies. Lactation is not the only use for the drug. Wake up FDA!!!

Comments: Many other countries have proven over the years that Domperidone is safe to use in breastfeeding women. Almost all drugs (prescription and over the counter ) say to check with a doctor before using while breastfeeding. Even some prenatal vitamins. There are some OTC medicines that can be far more harmful that are not regulated. Please allow this drug to be used. So many mothers could greatly benefit from it. The alternatives cause severe depression, which is far more risky considering a new mother's proclivity toward postpartum depression.
