Name: David Miller on Nov 1, 2012Comments: We all know that dogs do a great job protecting their owners property but that is where it should end, not on the public streets. When they become a problem for the public then their owners should be brought to account. It is in everyones interest to have a safe area, safe and clean streets helps to raise the value of the whole district. The local street cleaners do a good job in Zichron but if dog owners do not clean up after their pets then they are spoiling it for all of us. May this group help to inform, instruct and involve the community to solve this potentially dangerous problem.Flag

By owning a dog, dog owners have emplicitly taken on a responsibility to ensure that their pet is under their supervision at all times. In the words of the Hippocratic Oath " First do no harm "Flag

Name: Elisheva Avraham on Nov 8, 2012Comments: made aliya and moved to Zichron in 2007, but I hardly go for walks incase I bump into a wandering dog! ventured out for an afternoon stroll 5 years ago , heavily pregnant and a large black dog jumped towards me really scarry, and my then 4 year old son shouted at it to 'go', and we turned around and hurried back to the house, it took me quite a while to stop shaking from fright. Another time I walked out to collect my son , I was pushing my new born in the pram when a white long faced dog came charging towards me so I ran very fast back home so frightened cos the dog chased me right up to the house. I would really love to be able to just go out for walks around Zichron, to parks etc. and not worry about having the challenge of bumping into a lose dog that can for no provocte reason (apart from it's got dog instinct to bite) can attack and bite, how scarry! It is deffinately the owner of their dog to take them out for walks on leads, to collect the mess that their pet dog has dropped on our streets, and anywhere else that is not looked upon as a toilet,.. hoping that something will be done about this selfish problem.Flag

Often theirs dogs come over and start fighting with my dogs. Two times my hands have been cut by the leashes during these altercations.Flag

Nothing has been done. This is a priority situation which the Mayor and Council MUST address immediately if they want Zichron to remain a tourist attraction.Flag

Name: Suzie Russell on Nov 11, 2012Comments: We need a dog park where the dogs can socialise and run around together, but I know that these lazy owners will just dump their dogs there and use it as free "day care". It will be a huge dog-fight mess, with unsupervised dogs going wild. People let their dogs roam the streets because they are too lazy to walk them.Flag
