Name: Anonymous on Oct 8, 2009Comments: this would mean pensioners and people with low incomes will not be able to afford a pet dog, thus denying them of the pleasure a little dog would bring into the family home. There are people living on their own and a dog is their only companionship. What will be next The air we breathe!Flag

Name: Anonymous on Oct 9, 2009Comments: it will increase stray dogs when people like pensioners cant afford the new fee, 2 of my friends who already have neutered dogs have said that they couldnt afford it so will have to rehome dogs if it comes into force, this is just another tax on decent folk who already pay their dues, ie, current licence, road tax, car ins etc etc, and the price of microchipping (something my dog already has from a pup) will also shoot up in price when if it becomes compulsary along with licence increase, another money making scheme. people just wont pay and it wont change a thing apart from make those dogs already known to the councils by having a current licence, HOMELESSFlag

Name: Lesley Dodds on Oct 9, 2009Comments: Why penalise responsible dog owners who pay their license and control their dogs by increasing the fee unnecessarily AND looking to further restrict where we can safely allow our dogs to run and play. If the government want to outlaw potentially dangerous dogs they should target the people who cause them to be dangerous and NOT responsible owners.Flag

Name: Anonymous on Oct 9, 2009Comments: This is a ridiculous increase, especially for someone like myself with more than one dog. With pet insurance and vet bills this is just extortion by the Government. What justification do they have to implement such an increase OUTRAGEOUS!Flag

Name: Cara on Oct 9, 2009Comments: Too much too soon! While i appreciate that admin costs do rise, this increase is too drastic. I forsee more unlicenced dogs. Cumpulsory microchipping of all pets, and an optional online annual re- registration may be more sensible.Flag
