Our beloved UC Berkeley Upward Bound counselor, Thomas Nishi, will be transferred on June 1, 2012 to an Educational Guidance Center (EGC) program to work with middle school students. He has no say in this sudden change made by our interim director, Marsha Jaeger and other high officials; his only choice is to either accept the forced transfer or to end his job of working with high school students for about 40 years.  We, the Upward Bound Community, do not want Tom to be transferred because he has been part of the program for a long time and is truly one of the most valuable counselor, colleague, and friend. Please come together and sign this petition, which takes less than 2 minutes, so we can show Ms. Jaeger and the Higher Education leaders how this decision impacts not only Tom, but also the students, parents, alumnis, staff, and everyone else who Tom impacted.
