Name: George King on Jan 25, 2013Comments: If it is coming down to Native Americans taking it personally that we're using a symbol of their native land to symbol a fierce, fighting sports team, maybe they should think about how we're actually honoring them solely based off that fact. I attend Central Michigan University and I can attest that a Native American warrior in full garb was much more powerful and inspiring than a flying letter "C."Flag

Name: Jack Goldberger on Jan 25, 2013Comments: The Chief has always been a positive symbol of the Native Americans for whom our state and thus is a very appropriate symbol/mascot. The NCAA has intruded into matters that have nothing to do with the proper administration of athletics. Other universities have been able to retain their symbols/mascots who represent Native Americans. The rights of the University to have whatever symbol/mascot it desires are being infringed. It's time to stand up for our rights.Flag

Name: Shari Lintner on Jan 27, 2013Comments: The last time I saw the chief in person, it was with my mom. She had terminal cancer. She made it through half time to see him perform. He is an inspiration to us all. After that we left because she was too tired, but she wanted to see it before we left. I ushered football games for6 years at the stadium. It gave me goose bumps to see him. Removing him took away a livelihood for a tribe, and a magical honorable experince for us all. It was about honor, loyalty and to remember a great people in our history always. It is a terrible loss. Bring him back so future generations will know the pride and honor of the Chief!Flag
