We the undersigned are opposed to the late start time for AC Thompson School. We realize this was presented as a transportation issue but do not believe all issues were considered. The younger children are up earlier and ready to go. This would also negatively impact the severe & profound austic children in which Thompson has 3 classes of because obtaining daycare is extremely difficult for them. This is a Title One school so it also creates a financial hardship on working parents who in turn will have to pay for both before and after care as opposed to just paying after care. If the Middle school students have a late start time it is not so much of a hardship as they no longer are in need of before or after care.
