DUHS is one of the largest medical universities in the country with over 15 institutes under it's belt. A university of such magnitude and caliber should provide unrestrained access to it's library for students, both undergraduate and postgraduate, as well as faculty members. Currently the DMC library is open till 3pm (2:50pm to be precise) on weekdays, whereas a few years ago, it was open till 9pm. The change was brought about, stating "political" influences as a reason. DUHS now claims to be a university that has no such influences, and no such student run political organizations. Then why is it that the library still closes at 3pm? It should be kept in mind that undergraduate students are in classes and wards all day (for which attendance is mandatory) while postgraduate students are busy in the ward till around 2pm. Then who exactly is the library for? We the students of DUHS, would like to request the DUHS admin, to reconsider their decision. We would like the DMC library to be open till 9pm on weekdays.
