Do you know how hard it is to find a doctor who is open to following an alternate vaccination schedule? If the overall goal is to vaccinate everyone, then why not offer more options for those who are hesitate about the current schedule?

Dear CDC, Prove to the anti-vaxxers that your relationship with the pharmaceutical companies is not an unhealthy one. We are not a one size fits all nation. Your relationship with the very population you are meant to protect has produced mixed reviews. Help improve the quality of vaccines and make more options available please.

I am a mom with a child on the Autism Spectrum who seized after his first MMR shot. I am a mom with a small infant who needs the protection of a vaccinated population because she is too young to be vaccinated herself. I have an understanding and belief in both sides of the argument. I think we can both agree than not all immune systems are created equal.

Keep your precious Immunize by 2 for those who want the fast track for their children. For others, an Immunize by Preschool might be nice or an Immunize by Kindergarten would be really awesome. How about we start infants off with just Pertussis and Meningitis and go from there? Prioritize vaccines by prevalence and encourage doctors to be empathetic and flexible with those who want to go about vaccinating a different way. Again, if the goal is 100% herd immunity, why not help those of us who want to vaccinate but require an adjusted schedule?

I'm happy to report that after many hours of research and phone calls, I have been vaccinating and taking care of my family the way I deem best. I have found a doctor who is supportive and working with me. How many are willing to give it the time and frustration I have? Help our great nation please. We need options, not mandates.

We want a healthy disease free country but we need to participate on our own terms. Please provide us more options, safer vaccines, and a supportive government and healthcare system. After all, if you don't have your health, you don't have anything.
