Name: Greg on May 27, 2010Comments: AIDS Service organizations must be held accountable when they fail to evolve to meet the changing demands of a CHANGING epidemic. Settling for the status quo; assuming that a certain number of annual transmissions of the virus, and squandering the prevention and care resources they are entrusted with must come to a stop. ASO's served an important purpose in the early days of AIDS---they helped people prepare for imminent death. Unfortunately, many are still stuck in the past and haven't made one move to change for their early days. Just take a look at LAAN's website---last update was in April. How relevant is an agency that can't keep there most visible communication vehicle current? I don't need to know about the "dining for life" event that was held a month ago. Change in staff and volunteer leadership is obviously needed.Flag
