When you sign my petition, you will have the chance to stop discrimination against all races, especially African Americans today.

1. The desired outcome of my exit project is to make people realize the continuing major problem of discrimination against African Americans. With the recent death of Trayvon Martin, and peoples reactions to it with hoodie demonstrations, I think it will influence the fight to cease of the problem In the  U.S.
2. Today, racial discrimination is as bad as ever. Recently A young kid, “Trayvon Martin”, was shot by George Zimmerman. Zimmerman stated he looked suspicious because he had a hoodie on and he was African American. Many people have tried to solve the on and on problem of discrimination against blacks for a long time, but no one has officially succeeded with an actual law preventing racial discrimination. And my prediction is that if it goes on for a while now, African Americans could again be excluded from suffrage then, even the society. In some parts of the U.S, such as North Carolina
Many citizens in the U.S, some black and some white, have lead demonstrations with hoodies and more. However, the government does not do much. The police even jail a lot more blacks than whites, resulting in drastically higher in-jail percentages than whites.
My actions, I think are so desperately needed, because many other races such as Caucasions have been influenced to discriminate against African Americans. This problem has grown as for police as well with more more brutal and cruel punishments and higher in jail percentages. Many people have started racial slurs and discrimination in the workplace with employment payments unfair, and also some people have tried to stop this with riots and boycotts. That is why I intend to also help, and try to end discrimination and change the way people think about African Americans.
The problem started with slavery in the 1600’s and grew to be a thing where African Americans were not considered citizens, in the civil war with great people who didn’t believe in discrimination were shot, such as Martin Luther King Jr. The case of discrimination against African American has been continuing since the mid-1800’s in the civil war. The good thing that has changed was that in 1865, the 13th amendment had abolished slavery, and then in 1867, the 14th amendment declared citizenship for all people born.
I think the best or only other alternative to what is being done now, similar to the website we are doing, is to either write a letter to the government asking them to enforce the law of equality between blacks and whites, or do the same starting with an online petition, and if enough people agree, we could maybe get the permission to abolish racism and discrimination. This idea might be effective because, just like enforcing a law, it starts out with an idea, then it goes to the government, and if enough people vote “yes” it becomes a law. This kind of is related to my idea because if a large amount of people agree, the government might recognize it, and it might work.
When my plan has been put into action, I aim to have a law put in place or enforced that abolishes racial discrimination. This will happen by getting enough people to sign the petition, in contrast to getting a large amount of people to read a website to understand what is going on today in racial discrimination. The large amount of people signing the online petition might influence the abolishing of K.K.K, and racial discrimination in general.
6. Usually African American students or regular citizens suffering from unemployment  ask the only people they can ask, the government and Board of Education, to stop racial discrimination. If it is related to racism in schools, because of unfair school conditions or segregated schools, people ask the board of education to fix these learning conditions and let more African Americans be accepted in more schools. When discrimination in the workplace happens, people usually ask the government. This usually happens when deaths occur because of discrimination against African Americans, or schools treat different races differently and more. Riots or demonstrations, such as the hoodie demonstration, are presented to try to stop discrimination.
