Name: Jerry Scheer on Jul 25, 2008Comments: In America we are blessed with the freedom to speak our minds without the fear of reprisals. I have served in our countries armed services and I love this country we call home. But my son Ethan cannot speak and share the same freedom we all enjoy because of autism. How a person can be so cruel and uncaring of what falls out of their mouths is unforgiveable. As a parent I can only wish that this person could experience the anguish and frustration we sometimes feel. Regardless of what his defense may be, he has made comments that should not have been made. What is worse is this is a person who has access to the public. This was not a aw shucks I slipped on a word--this was a thought out rant from someone who had no intention of trying to bring autism to light. There was noble cause behind this so it is even more disturbing how now he was taken out of context or we all missed the real meaning of what he was saying. You know the saying I was born--but not yesterday!Flag

Name: Mike Davis on Jul 25, 2008Comments: The is one of the funniest comments that I have heard in awhile. What is even more amazing that he still has a job. You would think that the station would take some disciplinary action against this moron. Only in American does someone like that get on the radio. Of course the station will take no action since this subject probably is not deemed important. What was it that Rush Lim. stated about Rutgers (women's basketball - that they are a bunch of thugs) Of course action is warrented, that becomes a race issue, but in regards to autism they - are just BRATS that we're allowed to do what we wanted. I may not have be the brightest individual, but I know somethings are just plan wrong, and in a position of power end justifies the means. We have feelings and emotions as well. You try dealing with the problems that we face day in and day out and see how you like it. You really have no clue about anything and how you got a radio show in the first place I wonder how many people you have to: A). pay off or B). Sleep with.Flag

Name: Kristie McKeegan on Jul 25, 2008Comments: The station's explanation of what was meant by Mr. Savage is as offensive as the comments themselves. Casual observers cannot know the extent of an individuals limitations when it comes to autistic spectrum disorders. How dare you insinuate that if a person is not extremely severely affected in an obvious way, that the struggles and difficulties they experience are not real!!!Flag

Name: Cherquira Whitley on Jul 25, 2008Comments: I am a parent of a child with autism. By me seeing the transcript that was displayed through my email, it made me realize that there are people out there who are ignorant about the facts on autism. Remarks like these definately need to be stopped and corrected. When the media allows these types of comments to be made it demonstrates pure ignorance. I believe that some people who do not have autism present in there lives may feel this way and as a result, they need to be educated more about this disibility and maybe this will help them understand more about autism. I do believe that educating and knowing the facts cures ignorance. Also, the public and the nation needs to be warned that this is an epidemic and it is not just my problem or that persons problem, this is everyones problem.Flag
