All states must be required to conform to and put the new regulations into place. Substancial penalties including all legal costs must be leveled against any state that fails to enforce the new regulations, and the proceeds of these fines must be directed back to benefit children and adults with diabilities.Flag

Name: Toni Barnes on May 11, 2010What country are you from?: United StatesWhat US State are you from?: IdahoComments: Stop the insanity When a disability impedes the right of others to get an education, then its time to take another look at the laws being made. The rights of the "abled" are being trampled on and ignored in favor of the rights of the "dis-abled." What about the rights of the "abled" child to an education? Is that YOUR autistic child running around the room screaming because he/she cant take the pressure while the other students then have to stop working and wait for the child to calm down again or be removed, is that YOUR child who has that explosive temper on a daily basis? Is that YOUR child who wont stay in his/her seat and goes around grabbing things off others desks until teacher has to intervene on a regular basis? Is it YOUR child who is demanding the lions share of the teachers attention and constantly interfering with the education process that is supposed to be taking place but cant because your child cant cooperate with it? I have seen it all as a volunteer for many years during my childrens education, and it opened my eyes to so many things most parents have no idea about both good and bad. When your child comes home stressed and tired and just plain cranky find out what took place during their day. Ask who acted up and keep track. You will find a pattern. Same names and often. Doesnt my child have the same rights as yours? The right to an education? As long as we parents continue to be afraid to speak up for the same rights for our children that parents of disabled children demand, more and more rights will be taken from us to the point that classrooms will become a three ring circus! Parents get into your childrens classrooms on regular basis and see for yourselves. .Flag

We need to close all institutions and reinvest 50%of the $$$$ into Medicaid waiver and the other half put into a trust fund to grow . So that we can all have a strong Developmental services system. We also need to reduce nurisng homes . Invest in homecare its cheaper!!!!! Inclusion is a Birth right!Flag

I am having a hard time getting them to pay for diapers, bedpads. Our childred should not have to go through this. In Ar. they will pay a grandparent to care for a disabled child who lives with them. We servive on his SSI and that is just $674. and a DHS check of $42. Oklahoma needs to get with the program.Flag

HMO medicaid medicare providers that I have come into contact with prevent needed care in many cases and make unknown changes to policys they need to be properly regulated and forced to appropately preform the jobs that they said they would serve in. Please investage these matters ASAP! As this country needs immediate change.Flag
