GW students are concerned because the administration is selling these programs as 100% equivalent, but the programs are very different. The programs are different for the following reasons: *Online students will NOT apply through SOPHAS and will instead apply through 2U, the private company that will run this program. *The online program will be completed in 40 weeks, whereas the on campus program is typically completed over 6 semesters.*The online program offers NO track specialization- it is a GENERAL MPH degree, whereas the on campus program is a SPECIALIZED MPH degree.*Classes are NOT being taught by “regular professors” as the HATCHET quotes, but instead by to-be-determined TA’s that are non-GW faculty, called “professional lecturers” *The online program plans to graduate up to 700 students per year in the online program alone.*MANY faculty do NOT support this program, not because online education is a bad idea, but because the way in which GW is...
