I have read that an operation in Missouri, USA successfully treats children with cerebral palsy, and is called SDR (selective dorsal rhizotomy). It involves cutting nerves in the spine that are sending incorrect messages to the muscles and causing them to tighten. The operation has a 100% success rate and has dramatically improved the lives of 2100 children, including 50 from UK, but is not avalaible in UK. We, the undersigned, ask the NHS to support the introduction of the SDR procedure in the UK. Let's give hope to thousands of children in Britain, without them having to travel thousands of miles to the USA and to have the operation in the UK. Thank you.

My nephew has CP and it breaks my heart knowing there is a way to help him but the NHS wont cover it. Why should we have to fly across the world for this???
